The SIMS Series
Upon the success of the iconic SimCity franchise, The SIMS was released in 2000 allowing players to create SIMS and have them live life as best as they can. Everything from friendships to marriage can be established. SIMS can experience happiness or sadness, success or failure, and more. What keeps The SIMS series in being profitable are in the many different Expansion Packs and the work of Custom Content (or CC for short). I never played much of The SIMS 1, and it was only recently (as of July 21, 2021) that I got into the ecosystem of The SIMS 3 and The SIMS 4. As someone who has used Second Life, I wanted to go with an application that allows me to make custom content for The SIMS series.
With this renewed interest in The SIMS, this got me to wanting to develop content for The SIMS. I am relatively new to this. I will mostly start off with edits to meshes in material coming stock with the game. Because I don't have much interest in Expansion Packs, I will mostly go with the base game(s). Here is my To Do list as a Content Creator in the works:
• STAGE 1: Develop texture edits to pre-existing meshes. These include color edits and texture edits.
• STAGE 2: Develop mesh edits. This may also include making some texture edits for new items.
• STAGE 3: Develop meshes and textures from start to finish.
It is a lot of work, but I am willing to try. Most of my concentration so far will be on The SIMS 4 for now. Will you join me in my journey?

The SIMS Series: How to Mod?
For using mod tools to modify The SIMS series, here are some of the base tools you will need:
• (any 3D modeler; preferably Blender 3D, since it's free)
• (any image editing software; preferably The GIMP, since it's free)
• programs to import/export modified data into any The SIMS game, such as TSR Workshop or Sims 4 Studio
Let your creativity soar as you try to take a solid game like The SIMS series and make your own twists and tweaks to make it better.
